ScrapShop.co.uk is a free online national Waste Exchange through which organisations can view and place information about redundant stock and surplus raw materials.
What is a Waste Exchange?
A materials exchange actively exploits the principle that one company's waste is another's raw material. By automatically matching these parties via the internet, unwanted materials can be efficiently passed on or sourced - either once or as an ongoing arrangement. It delivers real financial savings for businesses, organisations and individuals and keeps potentially useful materials in circulation, thus avoiding landfill tax.
Vision of ScrapShop
ScrapShop.co.uk has been set up in 2009 by Green Buying Ltd, a joint venture partnership between the Buying Support Agency Ltd and WSP Environmental Ltd. The vision of Green Buying Ltd is to provide SME Businesses and other organisations with the tools by which they can become more sustainable. Thus GreenBuying.co.uk has an online Eco Shop and Green Services Directory as well as a Knowledge Bank and Green Procurement Audit & Consultancy Services.
